Airfare / Nearest Airport

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is the closest airport (approx. 1 hr away) and is used by most participants.
Columbus Airport (CMH) is another full-service option (approx. 2 hrs away) and is a good alternative when flights are canceled.

Ground Transportation from Airport

If your institution is sending more than one person or you are able to coordinate with others attending the courses, it is more cost-effective to rent a car for the week. Otherwise, there is a preferred shuttle service from the Pittsburgh Airport that offers a discount for transportation to Oglebay: (Note that “limousine” means van.)

Name
Cost Toll-free number
Airport Limousine Plus $120 per person/one-way, plus gratuity 1 (800) 326-2907

Note: Reservations and payments must be made 14 days in advance to qualify for this rate. When making air travel arrangements please allow at least 1.5 hours for transportation to Oglebay. You will need to provide flight information to book a shuttle service. The discount is not offered for flights scheduled to arrive after 9:00 PM.

Lodging at Oglebay Resort

All reservations must be made using this booking link: https://www.cognitoforms.com/WheelingParkCommission/_2023AZAProfessionalDevelopmentProgram

For questions concerning your reservation, you may contact the Oglebay National Training Center at ntc@oglebay.com.

Roommates

If you need to find a roommate, please post in the AZA Network group. Once you have found your roommate, complete and submit the online form using the reservation link above. Please coordinate with your roommate before submitting a lodging request form. In order to request a double room, you must provide the name of your roommate.

For double rooms, the Oglebay National Training Center will call to confirm and complete your reservation request. Reservations are not guaranteed until you have received a confirmation from the Oglebay Resort. Please allow several days for your request to process.

Package rates start at $1092.94 per person (not per room - shared rooms are an option) and include 6 nights of accommodations; breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks throughout the week; and all WV taxes. All courses, receptions, and meals will be at Oglebay Resort.

Large Groups

Cottages are available to accommodate larger groups and include multiple bedrooms, one or two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. All cottages are within walking distance from the main lodge where all courses and meals will take place. Shuttles will also run on a schedule each morning, at meal breaks, and in the evening to transport students staying in cottages. When considering this option, please keep in mind the potential for winter weather conditions in the area that can affect this brief commute.

International

International participants and some participants traveling long distances or with multiple layovers may choose to arrive on Sunday to provide a cushion for potential delays. If a Sunday stay is necessary, please budget for seven nights. Please note: in order to make the package affordable for all, anyone who chooses to leave Saturday evening will not be reimbursed for the unused night.

Lodging Options

Lodging options include single rooms, double rooms, and group cottages. Many students enjoy the relaxed social atmosphere of the cottages. Two, four and six-bedroom cottages are located within walking distance to Wilson Lodge and feature a full kitchen with microwave, living room with wood-burning fireplace and more. Standard double room rates apply to those staying in cottages. Please note that these accommodations are semi-private (private bedroom but share a bathroom, living room/common area, and kitchen).
