General Statement:
The Arizona Center for Nature Conservation is seeking a hands-on Director of Information Technology to oversee and manage the support, maintenance, and security of all IT systems, applications, and network infrastructure, which includes 3 servers and approximately 300 work stations. The Director of IT is also responsible for the overall planning, budgeting, and organizing of all IT functions, and development of new technical solutions.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated technical professional with extensive hands-on experience, and will be well-versed with current industry best practices with the ability to apply those best practices to our environment. This position will require effective interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to outstanding technical capabilities and leadership.
The candidate must have extensive experience supporting current versions of Microsoft enterprise applications include SQL Server, Exchange, and IIS. The candidate must also have a thorough understanding of current networking protocols and topologies and have experience with network infrastructure components such as switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS and routing protocols.
Essential Duties:

Provides quality guest service to both internal and external guests by maintaining a WILD (friendly, helpful, positive and professional) working attitude and appearance.

Plans, organizes, and evaluates the operations of the ACNC network and infrastructure.

Manages and maintains network file servers (including email and database servers such as Microsoft Exchange and SQL), point of sale systems, security cameras, ecommerce

Manages the setup and configurations of computer workstations. Provides all necessary hardware and software support needed for all personal computers and clients. Installs and maintains work stations as needed.

Troubleshoots hardware, software, and network operating systems and infrastructure including switches, routers and managed network devices.

Monitors security and anti-virus systems and PCI compliance.

Maintains and provides for the efficient use of resources including maintenance and upgrades of computers, printers, network equipment, and software.

Creates and implements strategies to ensure network security, data security, business continuity, disaster recovery, and high reliability of technology resources.

Anticipates future network and infrastructure needs, identifies solutions to satisfy needs.

Evaluates and participates in long range goals for business systems software application and integration.

Provides technology information and assistance to other teams, including training, in order to improve their utilization, and improve business processes.

Provides technical help desk support to users of the company network; including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Microsoft Server products, Microsoft Exchange, VMware and all major company applications and network connectivity, file and print sharing, in order to produce reliable support of the company’s technical environment.

Monitors reliability of network infrastructure, backup and operating systems on multiple platforms.

Manages current documentation and implementation processes.

Continually defines ways to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements, and preparing an annual budget.

Establishes and maintains vendor relationships ensuring best quality and pricing.

Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.

Continually defines ways to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

Leads a team responsible for the management of technology infrastructure, and software application deployment.

Provides leadership of cross-functional IT initiatives and new technology implementations.

Collaborates with other Management team members to develop technology strategies which will drive growth and operational efficiency.

Experience Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science.
Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in information systems management.
Network certification and/or certifications.
Advanced knowledge in technology, network systems, and applications.
Effective leadership skills and ability to provide strategic direction, strong budgeting skills and ability to make recommendations regarding purchase of hardware, software and other technology.
High level of problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
Possession of valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass pre-employment background check, fingerprint clearance, drug test and DMV check.
