With oversight from the Education Program Manager, the Assistant Education Program Manager will assist with the implementation of Zoo Education programs focusing on teen volunteers, visitor interpretation (exhibits and programs), and birthday parties. This position will assist with the development and implementation of a variety of curricula and programs for Zoo target audiences and administer quality assurance protocols to ensure the development and delivery of effective educational and interpretive programs for zoo guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Zoology, Biology, Botany, Ecology, Environmental Science, Science Education or closely related field
• Minimum 1 year teaching or educational outreach experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; at least one year of team leadership experience is preferred.
• Previous experience handling animals for education programs preferred.
