Performer / Keeper

Joel Slaven’s Professional Animals provides animal training and staffing for live animal shows,special events, and production work. Currently JSPA has contracts with Sea World Parks in Florida, California,Texas and Virginia as well as with the Columbus Zoo. JSPA currently has Fulltime Performer positions available at our "Pets Ahoy" show at Sea World San Antonio, TX,  our "Animals on Safari" show at the Columbus Zoo in Columbus, OH, our "Opening Night Critters" show at Busch Gardens Tampa, FL, our "Pets Ahoy" show at Sea World Orlando, FL, our "Pet Shenanigans" at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, VA, our "Pets Rule" show at Sea World San Diego, CA, and our training facility in St. Cloud, FL.

Candidates will be required to care for a variety of domestic and exotic animals. This will include; kennel maintenance, cleaning of animal enclosures, grooming, diet preparation, and enrichment. Candidate will also be responsible for show preparation and on stage performance of a character role.

Candidate should be in excellent physical condition and be able to run, climb stairs, bend frequently, and lift on average 50lbs. They will have a high level of self confidence and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Preference will be given to those with animal/theater experience.
