Dynasty Marine Internship Program Summer 2017

OVERVIEW Dynasty Marine Associates, Inc., a highly respected supplier of Caribbean marine life to public aquariums and zoos throughout the world. We currently have an open aquarist internship position for the best and brightest candidates. The selected individuals will have the opportunity to work with us, have fun, all while learning in this hands-on job opportunity. Some of the activities in which you will be involved with include: weekly packing and shipping of fish, cleaning and upkeep of tanks, organizing facility, daily feeding (yes, even the sharks), animal husbandry, acclimation and quarantine of wild caught animals, diagnosis and treatment of disease, and helping staff with special projects including tank repair, plumbing and general lab maintenance and related activities. There is no normal day at our facilities because there is always something new going on. Please note this internship does not involve any diving activities. Duration of the program requires a 12 week commitment of 30-35 hours per week at work. We will accept a minimum of 2 months for this internship to be mutually beneficial. This will allow the candidate to have time for additional outside employment and other activities. Financial support;  It is an unpaid internship. Experience Required

Applicant MUST either currently be at least a sophomore perusing an undergraduate in Biology (or related) at a credited university or college, or already graduated, be able to lift 30 lbs, be able to swim and be willing to “get your hands dirty!” A background in Caribbean fish identification is helpful, but not required. Some evening, weekend and holiday shifts may be required.
