National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium is the most comprehensive river museum in the nation. Established in 1980, its rich history has provided the community and the nation an all-encompassing view into its historic, aquatic, and terrestrial collections. With over 300 species, 3000 animals and historic artifacts totaling 10,000 and 35,000 library and archival items, its purpose and felt experiences by its visitors are unmatched.

As the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium continues to broaden its outreach, they look to bring on a CEO whose leadership, passion, and vision will leave a lasting impact on the community and National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium for years to come. The CEO’s leadership and developmental strategies will directly correlate to the continued success of the Museum and Aquarium through the broadening of local and national donor relationship management, implementing visions of continuous development both inside and outside the organization’s walls, and promoting and cultivating a path of endless learning, growth, and experiences.

The Museum and Aquarium is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. It is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and partners with Costal America, NOAA, US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Great River Road, and the Mississippi River Network.
