Street Team Internship

The role of Community Relations is to support the Museum's mission to "attract the broadest possible spectrum of participants." The Street Team works to promote participation of new audiences, in particular those under-represented cultural, ethnic and disability communities. The Street Team takes the Museum's affirming environment to the community and makes serious learning fun for everyone to further their relationship with science, technology, engineering and math.


The intern will assist the Community Relations Program Manager to coordinate the Street Team activities and training of team.


  • Works with other Museum departments to create training for team
  • Assists in scheduling of Street Team participation in events
  • Participates at Street Team events
  • Keeps track of all materials
  • Assist in choosing STEM activities for Street Team
  • Preparing materials for events
  • Other projects as assigned


  • Experience with (or interest in) working with diverse community groups
  • Good organizational skills
  • Speaks another language a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with Photoshop or other software to create flyers, activity sheets etc.


Summer 2017 6-8 weeks (May/June-August)

Special Note: This internship is primarily off-site work at local fairs and events


14 hours per week (Friday & Saturday)


Between $11.00 & $11.25 hourly
