The Seasonal Hospital/Animal Keeper is a year round part time position. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: Assisting the Lead Veterinary Technician and Veterinarian with all aspects of the animal hospital, daily cleaning, feeding and observation of animals in a specified area throughout the zoo, basic maintenance duties, public speaking through keeper talks and guest interactions, operant conditioning training, exhibit maintenance, basic grounds keeping, record keeping, and other duties required for daily operations. Work is performed outside under all weather conditions and rough terrain. Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled. The Brandywine Zoo is an accredited institution through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
1. Six months paid experience performing veterinary technician or assistant work
2. Six months experience in feeding animals, cleaning enclosures and providing care for animals in an animal care facility such as a zoo, animal hospital/clinic or animal shelter.
3. Six months experience in recording, interpreting and communicating observations concerning animal health and behaviors.
4. Ability to work well on a team
5. Knowledge of biology, natural resources, wildlife management or environmental studies.
6. Possession of a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked, cancelled or disqualified from driving).

Must provide proof of negative Tuberculosis Test within the last 12 months before start date.
Applicant must prove Rabies immunity or agree to complete Rabies vaccination (paid for by employer).
