The Maritime Aquarium's hybrid-electric catamaran, R/V Spirit of the Sound, hosts education programs for school groups, camps and the public. Science educators are responsible for providing programs on the vessel, as well as to a wide range of audiences in the classroom, off-site, at aquarium exhibits, birthday parties, scout programs including overnights, and promotional events.
Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field, experience working as an educator or crew on a vessel, experience with children in an educational setting, and a passion for nature. Strong public speaking and organizational skills required. Desired qualifications include: knowledge of marine biology and local flora and fauna, a master’s degree, and a current driver’s license with a clean driving record. This is a part-time position. Candidates must have 3 at least three days per week availability, including at least one weekend day.
$14.00 per hour
