SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Director, Curriculum Marketing will lead marketing and communications programs that promote awareness, foster adoption and support revenue goals for the Museum's K–12 curriculum portfolio and advocacy efforts. Working in close collaboration with senior management, curriculum teams, sales colleagues, advocacy partners and outside publishers, this role will help build a unified Museum of Science brand and leverage the Museum's leadership position in K-12 education to increase penetration in the curriculum, supplemental and STEM education markets.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee marketing strategies for MOS K-12 curriculum portfolio and/or educational materials, including a minimum of 7 engineering curriculum products (EiE: 3 in-school, 2 out-of-school time (OST), 1 Middle, 1 High) and 2 new computational thinking / computer science curriculum products in development.
  • Meet specific year-over-year growth goals for curriculum and educational products.
  • Oversee the work of up to 2 direct reports over the next one to three years (as product growth permits).
  • Attend minimum of 6 national meetings/conferences/trade shows to promote MOS curriculum products.
  • Collaborate with 2-3 existing publishers of MOS curriculum products to increase market share.
  • Lead the development and activation for 3-4 campaigns per year (direct, exhibits, events).
  • Lead the development of 6-8 collateral pieces per year.
  • Oversee the development of an online "landing zone" of mos.org with 12-15 sections that represent various curriculum, educational products and NCTL efforts.
  • Oversee monthly blog / e-news entries, public relations advisories and press releases.


WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.


REPORTS TO:

Senior Vice President, Marketing Strategy & Communications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science or Arts degree.
  • Five (5) or more years of marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience marketing to K-12 formal educational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing integrated marketing plans and programs for complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) skills to succeed in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Management experience with 3+ direct reports.
  • Experience managing a 6+ figure budget.
  • Proven analytical and reporting skills; experience developing and implementing a marketing/communications reporting framework specifically designed to measure effectiveness of marketing activities and return on investment.
  • Demonstrated relationship-builder who is able to partner cross-functionally and work effectively with various levels of the organization.


STARTING SALARY:

Exempt (Salaried). Commensurate with experience.

Experience Required
