Learning Program Coordinator
Summary:
The Learning Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating various education programs as well as creating education content for new or evolving programs. A portion of their time is spent conducting these programs as needed. This position manages the daily tasks of Conservation Education Interns and provides training to volunteers participating in education programs.
Essential Job Functions
- Coordinate and complete all administrative functions associated with Zookambi summer camp as the Assistant Camp Director
- Prepare online registration
- Coordinate class schedule
- Work with Environmental Educator on curriculum
- Create promotional flyers
- Attend recruitment events as needed
- Coordinate training for seasonal camp staff
- Coordinate and assist with Zookambi check-in and check-out
- Coordinate and complete all administrative functions associated with Zoo Teen summer program
- Prepare online registration
- Coordinate schedule with Animal Care
- Create promotional flyers
- Provide training and orientations
- Maintain records/evaluations
- Coordinate Conservation Education Stations and tours throughout the zoo
- Coordinate schedule with zoo hours and events
- Communicate volunteer needs to Membership and Volunteer Coordinator
- Develop new scrips as needed
- Provide training to volunteers as needed
- Coordinate Sundown Safari Overnights
- Coordinate schedule with qualified overnight volunteers and necessary zoo staff
- Prepare online registration
- Develop scout programs as needed
- Assist with coordinating other education programs as needed (zoo crew, education events, etc.)
- Assist with education event planning as needed
- Coordinate with Conservation Engagement Lead and Volunteer Coordinator as needed to ensure staffing and scheduling for education programs
- Maintain and update the Education Manual for Interns and Volunteers
- Manage Intern daily tasks, review work, and assist in evaluations
- Periodically review website for necessary updates
- Run reports on education programing as needed
- Work shifts at the front desk as needed (may include weekends)

Experience Required
Education: A bachelor's degree and experience in a conservation or zoology field is desired.
Salary
$38,000 to $42,000 negotiable based on experience
