Temporary Keeper
St. Catherines Island Foundation has an immediate opening for a Temporary Keeper. The position is seven months in duration.
St. Catherines Island Foundation operates a breeding and research facility for free-ranging ring-tailed lemurs. Temporary Keeper duties include animal observation, diet preparation, medical procedure assistance, administering medication, home site maintenance, cleaning, and enrichment. Temporary Keepers work a five day, six hour per day week, with two consecutive days off and must be willing to work weekends and holidays. A Bachelors degree in a biological science is preferred. Individuals must have had a negative TB test within six months prior to beginning work and be fully vaccinated for covid. Applicants must be able to lift 50lbs. and be willing to work in hot, humid conditions. Housing is provided and keepers will receive a $1000/month stipend.
