Sedgwick County Zoo

The Sedgwick County Zoo is a not-for-profit organization, accredited by the AZA since 1981.The Sedgwick County Zoo is also a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Zookeeper, Ectotherms

The Sedgwick County Zoo is seeking candidates for a fulltime zookeeper position in the department of Ectotherms, which is responsible for the daily care and exhibition of over 190 species throughout the zoo. The successful candidate would join our Ectotherms Team in caring for wide variety of reptiles and amphibians including multiple crocodilians, over 30 species of venomous reptiles, and a diverse assemblage of amphibians. The preferred candidate will have proven husbandry experience working with a variety of reptiles and amphibians at an AZA facility, living museum, or university. Ectotherms zookeepers also regularly work with a variety of terrestrial invertebrates and freshwater fishes as part of their routine responsibilities and experience with those taxa is a plus.

Experience Required

Two years coursework from an accredited college or university or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
