The Database Administrator upholds the critical role of overseeing and maintaining the Raiser's Edge donor database, which includes all donor, member, and event participant data. Working closely with the development and membership teams, the Database Administrator is responsible for the performance, integrity, set up, and security of the organization's Raiser's Edge database, NetCommunity system, and other add-on and related systems. The position will also be responsible for the planning and development of these systems as the donor database grows, as well as regular reporting, data analysis, and troubleshooting issues on behalf of all users.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform daily maintenance and enhancement of donor, prospect, event participant, and other constituent records using Raiser's Edge, NetCommunity, and associated systems.
  2. Monitor and maintain the accuracy, integrity, and security of all data.
  3. Create queries, exports, reports, and mailing lists as needed.
  4. Manage security rights and data coding.
  5. Train and troubleshoot issues with database users across departments.
  6. Serve as primary CRM administrator for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and ensure accurate and comprehensive data for optimal usage across the organization.
  7. Manage data vendors for data integrity and quality control, ensuring adherence to Tennessee Aquarium data strategy and protocols.
  8. Research and monitor emerging solutions in the industry for their viability and potential to improve systems support of organization goals.
  9. Work closely with Finance, Development, and Membership staff to provide reports and documentation for financial reconciliation and accuracy between the accounting database and Raiser's Edge
  10. Reconcile and close monthly development and membership financials on time.
  11. Serve as a member of a cross-departmental team exploring technology ecosystem transformation, representing development and membership operations.

Key Requirements

  • Must have extensive experience with Raiser's Edge, preferably with Blackbaud Certification
  • Able to understand internal business processes and how they relate to functionality within Raiser's Edge and database best practices
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports helpful
  • Solid and demonstrable skill and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively across the organization
  • Excellent people skills and ability to partner with diverse leadership teams
  • Manage multiple projects and remain focused, and deliver against timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality

Full-time, salaried; starting salary of $60,000 annually. All applicants must include resume and cover letter with application.
