Essential Functions
- Provide exceptional guest service to create a quality guest experience
- Operate cash register, make correct change and maintain accountability for funds
- Follow established procedures to sell admission tickets and memberships and complete associated paperwork
- Follow established procedures to check-in groups with reservations and complete associated paperwork
- Monitor exhibits and instruct guests in proper handling techniques of animals
- Use storytelling techniques to connect guests with animals and exhibits, and interpret the mission of the aquarium
- Facilitate public interpretive programs with the use of bio-facts, animal ambassadors, and approved exhibit/ animal guides
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills
- Assist in day to day supervision of, and act as point of contact for, department volunteers as assigned
- Follow established procedures for the opening, closing, and monitoring of all admissions, Splash Park, and exhibit areas
Experience Required
A one year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training. Any equivalent combination of education or experience may also meet the required qualifications.
