Horticulture Curator/Horticulturalist
The Viriginia Zoo is a 53 acre campus located just two miles from downtown Norfolk and is a valued inner-city greenspace. The Zoo property is a largely natural landscape featuring a variety of display, informal and formal, pollinator and specialty gardens . The Zoo Horticulture Curator/Horticulturalist is the head of the department coordinating landscape projects with staff, garden clubs, master gardeners, and volunteers. The position also plans and oversees the procurement, propagation, installation and cultivation of horticulture projects and planting. This position also designs, helps to install and maintain extensive agricultural irrigation systems. The horticulture team is made up of several support technitians who receive direction for seasonal and daily tasks, and maintenance activities, from the Horticulture Curator.
Salary
Starting $45,000-$60,000 annually
