The Wild Animal Sanctuary Texas

Is a 501c3 non-profit who was the first sanctuary of its kind to be certified by the AZA. We are a permanent safe haven for exotic animals who have been abused, abandoned or neglected.

Large Carnivore Internship

**We are currently hiring for our Winter session which will take place from November 28th - Feburary 25th for the 3 month session and from November 28th - May 27th for the 6 month session. 

Experience includes learning safety procedures, diet preparation, feeding, cleaning, animal health, animal management, behavioral observations, enrichment, and record keeping for large carnivores. Interns will assist in habitat construction, habitat modification and related activities. Interns will also be involved with the volunteer program, and both formal and informal presentations. Classes led by certified instructors for CPR, Basic First Aid and Bleeding Control will be provided (COVID dependent). **This is a strict no contact position**

Experience Required

Interns must have either 3 years of animal related experience or 2 years of undergraduate studies in a related major. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and present themselves in a professional manner.
