The Development Coordinator is responsible for financial fulfillment and oversight of state and federal grant awards. This position serves as a resource for staff of grant funded programs for fiscal and programmatic compliance matters. The position also provides administrative and analytic support for the Development office.
Work with the Development Strategy Officer, Director of Finance, and grant program staff to manage and oversee grant revenue status and reconcile grant budgets between program staff and finance monthly.
Prepare reimbursement requests for state and federal grants.
Establish and maintain electronic files for each grant-funded project to be used for tracking and reporting purposes.
Conduct routine compliance reviews of grant programs.
Prepare monthly solicitation and renewal letters, weekly acknowledgement letters, and additional correspondence when needed.
Provide backup support for data entry.
Analyze giving trends for annual fund donors and work with the Director of Development to identify moves management strategies.
Provide prompt and courteous service for internal and external contacts.
Support the team during occasional special events.
Maintain effective organization and communication.
Execute and maintain core values and service standards of the Tennessee Aquarium.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three years of work experience in development or grant operations, finance, or a related field
Demonstrated experience with project management
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; written and oral communication skills; and budgeting and spread sheet skills
An effective team player who communicates seamlessly with different departments at various levels within the organization and maintains confidentiality as appropriate
Proficient in MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
Ability to work independently and support multiple projects
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
