ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum six months paid experience in basic gardening. Basic knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs, insects, and disease. General knowledge of maintenance and irrigation procedures. Basic ability to operate various grounds maintenance equipment. Able to follow oral and written directions, good communication skills.
LICENSES: Requires valid Class C driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be loud.
