Evening Events Bartender

At the Tennessee Aquarium, we strive to connect people with nature and empower them to make informed decisions about water and wildlife. As a bartender, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional bartending services and customer satisfaction during evening events. A valid server permit paired with proven bartending skills and a professional, positive and good humored attitude are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide customers with mixed drinks, beer and wine; execute host bars, cash bars and ticketed bars, providing change quickly and accurately
  2. Ensure total guest satisfaction within Evening Event operations
  3. Handle guests problems/complaints effectively
  4. Actively engage and communicate with guests, staff and management
  5. Maintain a clean work environment during event setup and breakdown
  6. Flow between individual job functions seamlessly, accurately and quickly
  7. Assist with essential department functions and event details such as setup and breakdown
  8. Work closely with caterers and contract labor to ensure quality and adhesion to Aquarium guidelines and recycling efforts
  9. Have a working knowledge of Aquarium exhibits and venue locations
  10. Ensure and maintain standards in cashiering procedures and accuracy
  11. Adhere to the Aquarium's core values and service standards
  12. Assist other Aquarium and IMAX staff as needed


Key Requirements

  • Ability to work weekends and evenings
  • Previous experience with money handling and Point-of-Sales systems
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Strong multitasking ability with attention to detail
  • Professional, responsible and hard working
  • Beer/wine card
  • Valid driver's license


Part-time, hourly; Shifts could range from 1-2 events per month to 1-2 events per week, based on the quantity of contracted events.
