Spanish Speaking Aquarium Educator - Part Time
Spanish-Speaking Aquarium Educator – Part Time - $14/hr
The Maritime Aquarium’s Education Department leads programs and activities for people of all ages in classrooms at the Aquarium, at schools and beaches and events throughout the region, on our research vessel and on the Aquarium floor. This talented and knowledgeable team is seeking new members who are passionate about the natural world, education and aquariums. During the pandemic, many programs are taught virtually via Zoom and other online platforms.
Candidates must be fluent in Spanish and able to teach programs on marine biology and related topics to a variety of Spanish-speaking audiences. Candidates also must be an upper level college student, or have an undergraduate degree, in a relevant field, and have strong public speaking skills and experience with children in an educational setting. Desired qualifications include: knowledge of marine biology and local fauna, boating experience, experience working with individuals or groups that have special needs, an MA or MS degree, and a current driver’s license with a clean driving record.
