TWAS-Texas is a 501c3 nonprofit that is certified by the AZA. We rescue exotic animals that have been abused, abandoned or neglected and provide them with a permanent safe haven.
**We have a last minute opening for our Spring 2021 internship session. The session will begin February 28th and will end on May 28th. If you would like to utilize the available housing, move in dates will be February 26th and 27th. Please contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions.
Learning proper safety procedures, diet preparation, feeding, cleaning, animal health, animal management, behavioral observations, enrichment, and record keeping for large exotics. Interns will assist with construction and habitat modification and related activties. Interns will also be involved with the volunteer program, and both formal and informal presentations. Classes led by certified instructors for CPR, Basic First Aid and Bleeding Control will be provided (COVID dependent). **This is a strict no contact position**
Summer 2021: May 30th-August 27th
Fall 2021: August 29th-November 26th
Winter 2021: November 28th-February 25th
Canididates should have either three years of animal related experience or at least two years of undergraduate program studies in zoology, animal management, biology, or a related field. International applications are welcome. Interns must be able to perform regular, strenuous duties in over 100 degree weather and must be able to lift 50 lbs. You must present yourself in a professional manner.
