Fund Development Assistant

Essential Functions:
  • Assists in identifying, soliciting and cultivating a variety of major gift prospects and donor sources.
  • Assists in design and implementation of fund development programs.
  • Works with the Executive Director on capital campaigns.
  • Assists in coordination of day-to-day efforts of ongoing fundraising activities and programs including prospect research, solicitation materials, corporate donations and sponsorships, planned giving, grant preparation, public and private events, donor tours and maintenance of donor records.
  • Works with the Executive Director and all zoo departments to coordinate zoo wide fundraising activities and efforts.
  • Processes donations and donation acknowledgements.
  • Assists in maintaining donor database.
  • Manages adopt-an-animal program including processing and mailing adoption packages, maintaining acknowledgement board and database.
  • Assist with promotion, improvement and expansions of all donor related programs.
  • Assist in production and distribution of quarterly appeals.
  • Assists with day-to-day administrative needs of the executive director.

Experience Required

A minimum of two years’ experience in a development related field.

Further Comments

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in fund development or a related field is preferred.
