Safari West Reopens after Glass Fire
October 06, 2020
Safari West Safe to Reopen
Safari West closed down operations on Monday September 28th as the Glass fire incident exploded in Sonoma County. While the fire never seriously threatened Safari West property, we elected to close out of an abundance of caution. Having now faced three such wildfires in the last four years, we are well aware of how quickly the situation can change and the safety of our animals, staff, and guests is our highest priority. As of today, Monday, October 5th, containment on the fire has reached a point where we feel secure reopening. We welcomed overnight guests in the afternoon and will resume full operations—including safari excursions—on Tuesday morning.
