Safari West to Reopen June 20th

Safari West to Reopen June 20th.

The Safari West Wildlife Preserve is pleased to announce that it will be reopening for safari excursions, a variety of behind the scenes adventures, and dining by reservation on Saturday, June 20th. Overnight accommodations in the 30-unit luxury tent camp will actually open the prior evening—June 19th—allowing for a select few to get in on the action even earlier! As with all organizations resuming operations in a world impacted by COVID-19, Safari West has enacted a variety of changes to its policies and practices aimed at reducing the risks associated with the coronavirus pandemic. These changes include modifications that provide for increased physical distancing between guests and staff as well as increases in cleaning practices and frequency. These changes take Safari West's already robust commitment to the health and safety of its staff, animals, and guests and elevate it to an even higher standard. Additional details regarding the changes enacted can be found at www.safariwest.com.

During the prolonged closure brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, Safari West had to close its gates, but during this time, life has gone on uninterrupted. The preserve has welcomed a whole new generation of amazing animals including baby red river hogs, ring tailed lemurs, warthogs, flamingos, roan antelope, zebras, and more. With over 1,000 animals now grazing, gathering, flocking, and flying over this 400-acre preserve, Safari West is eager to get back to the business of exploration, education, and adventure. As always, advanced reservations are required for all Safari West activities. Reservation agents are standing by and reservations can be made online at www.safariwest.com or by calling 707-566-3667.
