Oregon Coast Aquarium Temporarily Closed to the Public For Two Weeks Effective March 16, 2020

Newport, Oregon— In response to Governor Brown’s executive order to cancel large gatherings to limit the spread of COVID-19, the Oregon Coast Aquarium will temporarily close to the public effective 5:00pm, Sunday, March 15, 2020. The Aquarium will remain closed to the public with an anticipated reopening on March 27, 2020. During this temporary closure, all scheduled programs and events have been cancelled.

“I appreciate the public’s understanding of our temporary closure to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The health of our staff, volunteers, visitors and our community is our top priority; our dedicated staff remain focused on the care of our animals during this time,” said Oregon Coast Aquarium President and CEO, Carrie Lewis. “We feel this is the responsible decision especially as we are entering the very busy Spring Break season.”
