Loveland Living Planet Aquarium Welcomes 5 Millionth Guest

Draper, UT (September 18, 2019) - Loveland Living Planet Aquarium welcomed their 5 Millionth Guest on Wednesday! Tracy Harlow of Provo was the lucky winner. She won a trip to Hawaii and a Five-year, Family Plus Membership to the Aquarium. She was with four-year-old Rory who was excited to be part of the celebration. Tracy works for a youth treatment center in Provo. After the celebration, Tracy and Rory went on a guided tour of the Aquarium.

The Aquarium is home to more than 4,000 animals representing 625 species, with an additional 100 ambassador animals who are a part of our education outreach programs. Over the past five years, the Aquarium provided more than 300,000 Field Trip student experiences. In addition, Aquarium educators provided another 300,000 student outreach experiences to classrooms across Utah. The Aquarium opened in Draper in March 2014.

“These milestones are very important to us. We can’t serve our Mission without the support of the community, so we’re grateful for each and every guest who visits the Aquarium,” said Heather Doggett, Chief Operations Officer for the Aquarium. “Five million guests over five and a half years is an accomplishment we’re very proud of.”

The Aquarium has come a long way since it started out as one Aqua Van in 1999. It grew from a preview space at the Gateway Mall, to a temporary location in Sandy, and finally to its current facility in Draper.

The Five Millionth Guest sweepstakes is presented by Mountain America Credit Union.
