AZA’s Commercial Member Engagement Council Grows in Its Third Year

Satisfi Labs and Mutual of Omaha sign-on in 2022, Event Network and SSA Group Rejoin

Silver Spring, MD (February 8, 2022) – The Association of Zoos and Aquariums is beginning the third year of its Commercial Member Engagement Council (CMEC). Inaugural members SSA and Event Network have renewed their strategic partnerships for the third year, and Satisfi Labs and Mutual of Omaha have newly joined.

The CMEC’s goal is to find the intersection between economic, environmental, and social aspects of the zoological profession’s business to set the standards for the industry in carrying out AZA’s mission of respecting, valuing, and conserving wildlife and wild places.

  • Event Network is the leading operator of experiential retail stores for a variety of cultural attractions and lifestyle destinations, including 35 AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums. Event Network is recognized for their sustainable approach to gift shops and their commitment to educate, inspire and drive support for conservation missions.
  • “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom,” launched by Mutual of Omaha in 1963, continues to be a much loved and respected wildlife program. Mutual of Omaha is a Fortune 300 insurance and financial services company.
  • Satisfi Labs is a conversational artificial intelligence (AI) company whose AI-powered virtual assistants enable zoos and aquariums to provide automated and on-demand answers for visitors so they can access, discover, and purchase directly through a chat assistant on a website, app, and messaging channels.
  • SSA is an award-winning visitor amenities company that partners with cultural attractions across the country to drive revenue, innovation, and impact. SSA's best-in-class integrated services model of blended food, retail, admissions and digital commerce sustainably grows visitor participation through powerful customer experiences.

The CMEC continues to explore how AZA’s community of nearly 325 commercial members can align their strategies for Good Corporate Citizenship with both one another and with AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums. Good Corporate Citizenship is an evolving business practice that incorporates sustainable development into a company’s business model.

“AZA’s commercial members are invaluable to the AZA community,” said Dan Ashe, President and CEO of AZA. “We are excited to welcome Satisfi Labs and Mutual of Omaha to the CMEC, who will add value and expertise to that offered by our returning members, SSA Group and Event Network.”

Additional information about the CMEC and its members is available on AZA’s Commercial Member Engagement Council webpage.
