Today, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the U.S. Wildlife Trafficking Alliance (USWTA) announced their joining of forces in a united effort to fight the global epidemic in wildlife trafficking. AZA Statement on Cetacean Announcement by Vancouver Aquarium

Silver Spring, Maryland  – The Vancouver Aquarium, an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), today announced that it would no longer display whales and dolphins at the aquarium, with the exception of doing what is best for the Pacific white-sided dolphin currently in its care and any rescued cetaceans that may require temporary housing. Silver Spring, MD – The Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) has announced the winner of the 2017 AZA Photo Contest, which recognizes exceptional photography taken at AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums.
