Animal Transport for Animal Care Professionals Virtual Edition

Animal Transport for Animal Care Professionals Virtual Edition

October 15 - November 15, 2021
Twice weekly, 1-3pm ET

Virtual Course Overview

This virtual course covers the theory, concepts, and practical application of animal transport including animal welfare and safety across all taxa. Current domestic and international regulatory and legal requirements and guidance will be discussed, as well as best practices for transport. This course provides students with exposure to the philosophies and regulations that will help shape the future of animal transport and support improvements to their facility's shipping check list.

This course is designed for teams of up to four individuals from each organization to attend together. For example, a curator, veterinarian, registrar, and keeper from one facility could attend and work together to apply their learnings to all aspects of their organization's transport policies and practices. One paid registration will provide access to the course for up to four from that organization. After an individual is admitted, they will be asked to submit details for others attending as part of their facility team. If more than four people from an organization wish to attend, one paid registration will be required for each team of up to four.

This course will meet bi-weekly for eight sessions, October 15 through November 15, for 2-hour live course sessions via Zoom. Discussion, homework and other resources between courses will be hosted on Google Classroom. Course sessions will be held 1-3pm ET:

  • Friday, October 15
  • Wednesday, October 20
  • Friday, October 22
  • Wednesday, October 27
