On The Cover
The blue iguana is the largest native land animal on Grand Cayman and had evolved in a predator free environment. However, the iguanas had no adaptation for when people arrived and their numbers plummeted. Starting in 2001, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) health experts, including veterinarians and technicians, partnered with the Blue Iguana Recovery Program to help save this highly-endangered species.
