Riverbanks Zoo & Garden's Mammal Keepers work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment to provide proper care for mammals and other members of Riverbanks’ animal collection. We are actively recruiting a Mammal Keeper who has previous experience working with hoofstock including elephants, zebras, giraffes, etc. Duties include feeding animals, cleaning and maintaining exhibits, working with veterinary staff to monitor and treat diseases, monitoring animal behavior, and providing enrichment and training. Our Mammal Keepers are responsible for maintaining detailed behavioral, reproductive, and medical records, interacting with Riverbanks guests, and cooperating with co-workers to provide top quality animal care. This position reports to a Senior Keeper and the Assistant Curator. The compensation for this position starts at $12.62 per hour. Requirements: Associate's degree in biology, zoology or wildlife management and one to two years experience working with zoo/exotic animals (elephants and exotic hoofstock preferred) in a professional setting, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
