Job Summary: Responsible for the development and implementation of programs
and special projects to assure positive zoo growth, including fund-raising,
neighborhood enhancement and other projects to assure the accomplishment of the
Qualifications: Four year college degree, with background in finance, demonstrated and outstanding skills in communication (written and verbal) skills and computer skills, past experience in non-profit fund-raising.
Duties/Responsibilities: Plan, organize and direct the functions of the development office; establish and maintain effective record keeping programs, including foundation and donor research, donor records, volunteer records, acknowledgements, utilize the software Gift Works or other suggested programs; secure sponsorships for major zoo programs; work with staff to increase sale of zoo membership program; establish a new program of planned giving.
Research and prepare grants and proposals, identifying both new sources of potential funding and maintaining relationships with past funders; coordinate, organize and manage special campaign efforts, including capital, annual, endowment and other campaigns.
Supervise all public relations and social media efforts to promote and build zoo awareness and attendance. Coordinate zoo efforts and involvement in neighborhood groups.
