The Development Associate provides clerical support to the Development Department of The Living Desert under the direction of the Acting Director of Development. He/she prioritizes and coordinates a wide range of administrative and office clerical support activities for the Annual Fund, special events, major/planned gifts, the Endowment Campaign, and donor recognition. They will also carry the primary responsibility in the Department for working with The Living Desert data bases to maintain accurate record keeping, generating fundraising/marketing reports of all kinds, and generating correspondence including gift acknowledgement letters. The DA will also schedule meetings, issue invitations, track RSVPs, take minutes as requested and provide logistical support to Department activities as requested.

Associates degree or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Recent office support experience required. Five years professional experience and non-profit background preferred.

The successful candidate will have applied knowledge of administrative/clerical procedures and business principles with excellent delivery of customer/guest service. Must be proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills and with all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Thorough and demonstrated understanding and proficiency with database software and use of the Internet required. Experience with Raisers’ Edge and Centaman preferred. Fluent Spanish language skills considered a plus.
