ZOOKEEPER (POTTER PARK) INTERNSHIP 2013The Potter Park Zoo, located in Lansing, Michigan, is accepting applications for a 6 month, paid zookeeper internship program to start July 3, 2013.• This internship will provide practical experience for those interested in the zoo keeping field.• Interns will work alongside the zookeepers in many aspects of their profession including exhibit maintenance and upkeep, diet preparation, enrichment, assisting with veterinary procedures, record keeping and public presentations.• The intern will work throughout the zoo including domestic and exhibit animals.• The application can be submitted online at https://www2.ingham.org/PEJOB/jobapp.asp

Applicants must be able to work in an outdoor weather environment in all seasons and weather, including heat and humidity, cold temperatures, and/or wet conditions.• Vacations are not allowed.• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.• All applicants must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and dependable transportation.• An excellent driving record is preferred. Applicants must be able to pass a physical exam with a back exam and a TB test.• This is a seasonal (not permanent) position. • Salary Rate: $11.08• Schedules can vary from part-time to 40 or more hours per week.• Work hours may be days, some evenings, weekends, and holidays.DESIRED MAJOR(S)College of Natural Science /Zoology
