This position requires a background in mechanical and electrical maintenance. An example of experience would be at least one year. Must have basic knowledge of rigging, low-voltage control circuitry and non-destructive testing procedures. Strong troubleshooting skills are a must. The position requires working at heights and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Successful candidate must have good organizational skills and willing to work any of the seven days of the week. The Skyride Mechanic is a journey level class performing skilled maintenance and repairs on our detachable gondola ride. Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems that occasional may occur on our Skyride. Make necessary repairs, such as overhauls, adjustments and bearing replacement. Perform preventative maintenance to all of the Skyride equipment including; sheave replacement on towers; rebuilding of grips; lubricate all moving parts; keeps simple records; maintains shop in clean, safe, and orderly condition. Applicant’s education, training and/or experience will clearly demonstrate the knowledge and skills listed above. An example of would be one or more year’s journey-level experience in Skyride, automotive and electrical repair and maintenance. Applicant will be exposed to varying weather conditions, oil and grease, hot surfaces, electrical shock, fumes and hazardous/toxic substances. Work from elevated positions, confined or cramped spaces and slippery surfaces. This position has been identified as one requiring at least occasional lifting in excess of 50 pounds; long periods of standing, bending and reaching. For more job information and to apply:
