MBA Intern Program provides an experience that is relevant to competitive upper-division and graduate students who plan to work in the arts and sciences at aquariums, museums and zoos. Internships are academically and experientially competitive. The competitive candidate should be a U.S. citizen. A junior or senior in college or a graduate college student with relevant course work and experience is preferred.
Student with bird, husbandry or wildlife rescue experience will assist with the husbandry care of all avian collections, including penguins, a large and diverse collection of shorebirds, common murres and puffins. Duties include the maintenance of several exhibits, including the aviary and holding areas, record keeping, diet preparation, animal observations and animal transport. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb and work off a ladder, work in close exhibit areas, work in the cold, handle live animals and plants. Must be able to scrub and clean very large tanks.
