Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is looking for a talented and energetic person to fill the position of Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the maintenance of the Zoo's physical plant, supervision and management of the maintenance staff, and tracking/reporting of safety and regulatory compliance. •Effective organization and management of the Maintenance Department employees and activities to optimize productivity, team work and results.

•Control and supervision of the care, use, repair and replacement of all tools, vehicles, maintenance supplies and in house construction materials.

•Takes charge of regulatory compliance by maintaining comprehensive checklists and timelines for entire organizational regulatory requirements. Responsible for preparing for on-site visits by inspectors. Works with contractors to meet requirements and communicates with others regarding pending visits.

•Responsible for tracking, reporting and progress updates of maintenance work orders and projects on a regular basis.

•Acts as the main point of contact for waste disposal and handles all disposal related issues.

•Partners with the Director of Operations to work towards environmental stewardship/sustainability.

•Manages the work order process. Schedules work activities effectively to optimize efficiency and productivity. Communicates with all departments in the creation and implementation of work orders. Acts as the main point of communication between the maintenance staff and all Zoo departments.

•Maintains safety programs at the Zoo by being both proactive and reactive to safety issues. Schedule and facilitates testing or fire sprinklers, alarms and extinguishers to ensure function and regulatory compliance.

•Updates and maintains Sky Ride maintenance and inspection logs and files.

•Recommend, schedule and track preventative maintenance of the Zoo’s physical plant.

•Maintains excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication with individuals.

•Must be flexible to handle a variety of activities and adjust to changing priorities to ensure deadlines and commitments are met.

•Maintains a positive, productive attitude with all Zoo staff and Zoo guests.

•Performs other related duties as assigned and be on call for after hour maintenance.

•One weekend day will be part of the positions regular schedule.
