The Senior Advancement Officer is responsible for securing high 5-, 6-, and 7-figure gifts from individuals to advance the goals of the Museum of Science (MoS) campaign through restricted, unrestricted, planned and capital gifts. S/he will develop relationships on behalf of the Museum with prospects, guiding them through the development process to successful solicitation and subsequent stewardship cycle. The Senior Advancement Officer is expected to spend considerable time outside the office meeting with potential prospects as an energetic, creative and persuasive front line member of the Advancement Division.
• Responsible for raising $1-5 million per year
• Responsible for securing 5- to 7-figure gifts
• 70% of time is focused on leadership gifts
• Meet with 15 prospects or donors per month
• Prepare 2-4 solicitation proposals per month for major gifts of $50,000+
This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday
Director of Leadership Gifts
• Bachelor of Science or Arts and additional course work preferred.
• More than 5 years of major gifts experience.
Exempt (Salaried). Commensurate with experience.
