Back by popular demand Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Random House Children’s Books, The Ocean Project, and the Associations of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) have partnered yet again to celebrate World Oceans Day, held June 8th, with Dr. Seuss.
For the second year in a row participating AZA accredited zoos and aquariums across the world will host fun-filled family events inspired by this year’s theme of 1, 2, 3 and the Seas, with the goal of encouraging children of all ages to creatively examine how numbers and counting play an important role in protecting our oceans.
Rhythm of Conservation Sweepstakes
AZA invites families who are passionate about education, and interested in learning more about wildlife conservation, to enter the Rhythm of Conservation Sweepstakes.
From April 1st through June 15th, families can enter the Rhythm of Conservation Sweepstakes online and return once daily to enter again and learn about a different animal. On the site, visitors may also browse interactive educational activities and lessons about conservation.
Some of the great prizes up for grabs include a four-day, three-night family package for two adults and two children to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge with Savannah View; a NOOK Tablet™; and more! This exciting opportunity is made possible by K12, America’s leader in K–12 online education.

Since 2002, The Ocean Project and the World Ocean Network have helped to promote and coordinate World Oceans Day events worldwide. Each year an increasing number of countries and organizations have been marking June 8th as an opportunity to celebrate our world oceans and our personal connection to the sea.
