Course Credit OptionsContinuing Education Unit (CEU)CEUs are available through George Mason University. A CEU is a nationally recognized unit of measurement for participation in non-credit continuing education programs. One CEU is defined as 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience. CEUs recognize individuals that continue their education and keep themselves current in their chosen professions. If you would like to receive CEUs, please check off the appropriate box on the course registration form and pay the additional $20. Undergraduate CreditThe program does not specifically grant undergraduate credits. However, the graduate-level courses described below may be utilized for undergraduate credit. Graduate CreditProfessionals who have a bachelor's degree and are looking to advance their career can take AZA Professional Development courses for graduate credit through George Mason University. Graduate credit costs an additional $470 for three credits for October 2008. 2009 credit costs to be determined. These credits can be applied to a university you are currently enrolled in or plan to enroll in, or they can be applied to George Mason University's new master's program in Zoo and Aquarium Leadership. If you aren't ready to apply for a master's degree now, but you think you may want one in the future, consider taking your course for credit anyway as retroactive credit is not granted.
