Goals

The Developing an Institutional In Situ Conservation Strategy course is designed to help you position your institution to become an active member of conservation community. The course will provide you with a framework and some practical guidelines on how to establish successful conservation initiatives that leverage the skills and talents of your staff, provide plans to assist you in marketing and fund raising, and guidelines to help you select projects and evaluate their impact.

For those institutions that already have active conservation projects this course will provide you with skills to further develop projects, refine your organizational structure and grow your program. Techniques for positioning your institution for continued success in both your community and beyond will be emphasized.

If your institution wants to become involved in field conservation efforts but you are not exactly sure how, this course will help you develop an effective and efficient framework based on the key learnings of a variety of successful conservation organizations.
