2010 Mid-Year Meeting
The 2010 Mid-Year Meeting will take place on February 28-March 4 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, hosted by the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.
New features for the 2010 Mid-Year Meeting include three general session events themed around amphibian conservation, including Keynote Speaker James P. Collins, Assistant Director for Biological Sciences at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Virginia M. Ullman Professor of Natural History and the Environment in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU). He is also the co-author of the recently published book, Extinction in Our Times.
Also added to this year's meeting are continental breakfasts Tuesday - Thursday and lunch networking events on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Icebreaker on Monday, March 1, will take you to the Virginia Zoo to see a sneak preview of the Asia-Trail of the Tiger expansion. And, Aquarium Day on March 2 at the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center will feature behind the scene tours of their new exhibit, Restless Planet.

If your AZA committee or animal program is interested in holding a meeting during the Mid-Year Meeting, please complete the Meeting Request Form and return it to Cheryl Wallen. Priority is given to AZA committees and animal programs if request forms are received by Friday, November 6th. After this date, space will be available to non AZA committees and groups.

Please note: With the exception of the Accreditation Hearings, all programming will take place at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, just a short, 5-minute walk from the Doubletree. Accreditation Hearings will take place at the Doubletree.
Travel Information
Norfolk International Airport (ORF) is about 20 minutes from the Doubletree. Transportation is available through Carey Transportation. One-way service to Virginia Beach from the airport will cost approximately $39.
