The General Curator of Zoological Programs plans, directs, and coordinates all activities regarding the management of the animal collection. The position provides opportunities to set policy and procedures for the animal care division within the context of a philosophy of progressive animal husbandry and workforce development. The successful candidate is expected to work successfully in a team environment with an emphasis on efficiency and accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree required, Master’s preferred, from an accredited college or university in Biology, Zoology, or related field. Six years experience as a curator in a zoological park or related experience. Must have in-depth knowledge of AZA animal collection sustainability programs, AZA Accreditation standards, ISIS (International Species Inventory System), federal and state wildlife legislation, and exotic and wild animal husbandry and exhibition issues. Must be non-smoker/tobacco user

FULL SALARY RANGE: $70,697 - $106,045/Annually. Typical Hiring Salary: $70,697 - $88,371/Annually.
HOURS: 40 hrs/wk
