An African adventure awaits! Discover spectacular views of wild animals from elevated boardwalks. Get nose-to-nose with one of the largest giraffe herds in the country as you explore Wild Africa and hand feed a giraffe! Wild Africa is a 50- acre replication of an African national park with an 18- acre savanna, an authentic African village, a ranger station, research camp, gold mine, and forest farm. It’s an African adventure not to be missed! Zoo opens mid April through mid October.

The Detroit Zoo consists of 125 acres of naturalistic exhibits.
Opened in 1928, the Detroit Zoo was the first zoo in the United States to use barless exhibits extensively. The Detroit Zoo is a natural habitat for more than 3,200 animals and 700 varieties of trees, shrubbery and flowering plants. Major exhibits include the Arctic Ring of Life, Wildlife Interpretive Gallery, Great Apes of Harambee, Penguinarium, Australian Outback Adventure, Holden Museum of Living Reptiles, National Amphibian Conservation Center, giraffes, Amur tigers, African lions, Grevy's zebras, snow monkeys and prairie dogs.

Open year round, The Potter Park Zoological Gardens is a 58-acre zoo located in the capital city of Lansing, Michigan within Lansing's Potter Park. The zoo is home to over 100 species of animals, many of which are threatened or endangered, including Amur Tigers, Red Pandas, Bali Minah Birds, Snow Leopards, Tamarin Monkeys, Bongos and more. Along the banks of the Red Cedar River, Potter Park Zoo is surrounded by majestic oak trees and a beautifully landscaped environment creating the perfect atmosphere for animals and visitors.
As a fully accredited AZA member, Potter Park Zoo is committed to making significant contributions to mid-Michigan through conservation education that encourages responsible stewardship of the habitats supporting wildlife. The Big Zoo Lesson and the Zookambi summer camp are just two of the many educational opportunities available to visitors. Through these programs, we provide visitors and participants with entertaining, engaging and educational experiences.
