Valvoline and AZA Partner for Environmental Enhancement

May 7, 2009

Dublin, Ohio (May 7, 2009) – Protect your car, protect the environment, and the zoo's on us. That's the special offer available from Valvoline®, America's original branded motor oil, and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

AZA and Valvoline Partner For The Environment

Respecting the environment and enhancing conservation is of extreme importance, and AZA and Valvoline are partnering to do just that. Launched on May 1, and while supplies last at participating locations, when a customer purchases services performed with Valvoline Professional Series solvent-free products, they'll receive a certificate for a buy-one-get-one-free admission to a participating AZA-accredited zoo or aquarium in their community.

Valvoline Professional Series solvent-free products are installed at thousands of locations across the U.S., including auto service centers, car dealers, independent repair garages and quick lube and tire centers among others. A free phone call to 1-800-TEAM-VAL (1-800-832-6825) can help locate installers participating in the program.

Zoos And Aquariums Participate

No mail-in is necessary. The certificates will last through Aug. 31* and will be honored at 115 zoos and aquariums across the country. In cases where zoo or aquarium admission is free, the certificate can be redeemed for admission into parks or special areas inside the zoo that usually charge a fee.

Valvoline Professional Series products are created with the newest technology to be solvent-free, so that they not only protect cars and other vehicles but also protect the environment. The complete line of products covers a wide range of routine services - everything from brake fluid and power steering system service to engine cleaning and transmission, differential and transfer case service.

Good For Your Vehicle, Good For The Environment

Keeping vehicles running as the manufacturer intended is good for the vehicle, for the environment and for the driver. That's because proper maintenance not only enhances performance but also improves efficiency. When a vehicle's systems are operating at their peak performance, mileage is improved and emissions impact on the environment is reduced.

"We are very privileged to work with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums," said Sam Mitchell, president of Valvoline. "Their conservation work and educational efforts are admirable, and their passion for protecting the environment is in line with ours. We're especially excited to be able to share this mission in a fun way with our customers and their families."

The Association of Zoos and Aquariums is the independent accrediting organization for zoos and aquariums and recognizes only institutions that meet their high standards of animal care and conservation. Their 218 member zoos and aquariums are visited by more than 175 million people every year.

"Valvoline's continuing efforts to preserve the environment are worthy of our appreciation and support," said Jim Maddy, Association of Zoos and Aquariums president and CEO. "We wouldn't partner with an organization unless we agreed with their attitudes and efforts, and Valvoline is a great fit for us."
