The Advanced Avian Program Management professional training course is designed to train students to enhance their effectiveness as avian managers and program leaders whether bird supervisors, general curators or directors. Participants will be given a variety of tools, techniques and best practices to provide a foundation for understanding and meeting current challenges in avian management. A major goal of the class is to use critical thinking techniques that will allow avian managers to make informed decisions regarding the future of avian collections.

The following scholarship opportunities are currently available to aquarium and zoo professionals for the Advanced Avian Program Management course.
Target Audience
This course is targeted toward professional managers of zoos, aquariums, nature centers, aviaries, wildlife agencies and related organization who are interested in management of an avian collection or program. Facilities with a single broad taxonomic animal manager will benefit from the techniques and processes provided in the course. Volunteers and private aviculturalists are welcome to attend but priority will be given to individuals associated with AZA accredited institutions and their programs.
