Racine, Wis., May 22, 2013 – The Racine Zoo is hosting more than 1,900 Zoo members at Member Appreciation Night tomorrow from 6-8 p.m. The highlight of the event includes an exclusive preview of the new Barnyard Safari exhibit opening to the public on Saturday. The sneak peek also includes a first look at the famed three little pigs, Tunis and Barbados sheep, Nigerian dwarf goats, a llama, and an alpaca.

“We always look forward to this event each year,” said Racine Zoo President and CEO Jay R. Christie. “It’s a nice way for us to thank our members for their support and generosity throughout the year. After all, there would be no Zoo without them!”

Members will also have the opportunity to meet the Zoo’s new camels, Hugo and Stella, enjoy Animal Chats at the Helen Ireland Wildlife Theater, listen as Dr. Gregory Mayer, reptile expert, discusses the rescued animals from Kenosha, and enjoy a hot dog dinner and dessert.

Zoo membership packages start at $50 and can be purchased online at racinezoo.org/membership, at the admissions window, and at the Zoo office at 200 Goold Street.
