Tamandua Keeper Chat
What to do at the Sacramento ZooMay 31, 2012
Have you ever wondered how to make an adventure to the Zoo as exciting and educational as possible? At the Sacramento Zoo, there are many ways to keep inquisitive minds filled with an increased number of keeper chats this summer season. Keeper chats are a great way to learn about your favorite animals that call the Zoo home. From April through Labor Day, five keeper chats – each focusing on a different animal – will be offered daily. Visitors learn how keepers care for each animal, why enrichment is important and the animal’s natural behaviors in the wild.
Other educational opportunities include daily stage shows, giraffe encounters and riding on the Conservation Carousel. Between keeper chats and stage shows, keep your eyes open for docents wearing bright yellow; from biofacts to animal ambassadors, they always have special knowledge to share with Zoo guests.
School may be out for the summer but that doesn’t mean that the learning has to stop. Now is the best time to visit the Sacramento Zoo. Check out the complete schedule at saczoo.org and plan your day.
