April 15 – 16 » First International Wildlife Reintroduction Conference
Hosted by the Alexander Center for Applied Population Biology, Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago, IL. Organized by IUCN Reintroduction Specialist Group and Lincoln Park Zoo. This is the first international, broad-ranging, open conference to be held on the science of reintroduction. The conference intends to provide both scientists and managers multiple approaches to the science of reintroduction from planning to implementing and evaluating the characteristics of reintroductions that succeed and fail.

Presentations will include topics on experimental design and adaptive management, genetic factors, release design, captive born animals and behavioral issues, disease, and tools such as computer modeling, GIS, stress analysis, and techniques for post-release monitoring. Speakers will be invited to give their most current research and will be selected by a review committee from contributed proposals. More information at www.reintroduction.org.
